Job Description

Position Description:

The Word Formatting Assistant is responsible for formatting and producing proposal documents on an as-needed basis, to include formatting of text and images, application of document templates, and adherence to best practices in accessibility. Background in working with proposals for government agencies is a plus, but not required. The Formatting Assistant will report to the Proposal Production Manager.

  • Exhibit a client-first philosophy. Focus on creating the best experience and seeing assignment through to completion.
  • Utilize strong communication and effective time management skills to monitor and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work collaboratively with internal customers, production colleagues, and creative services to encourage accessible authoring of content by sharing guidelines, best practices, and subject matter expertise.
  • Flexible work schedule. Availability as requested, to include evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Format proposal documents quickly and accurately, in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), utilizing Mathematica templates/styles/branding or client custom requirements, to produce visually compelling documents.
  • Ability to work independently or assist others when needed.
  • Must be detail oriented and focused.

Functional Knowledge (Preferred):

  • Strong aptitude in critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity of Section 508 standards for accessibility a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Task management tools (ServiceNow experience helpful) on a Microsoft Windows Platform.

Position Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
  • Minimum two years of experience in large-scale document production, preferably in a federal contracting environment
This is a fully remote part-time/on-call position that offers a projected hourly rate of $23/hr - $27/hr
Available Locations: Princeton, NJ; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; Remote

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance.
