Bollinger Motors is seeking an experienced Wiring Engineer. This position reports to the Electrical and Controls Director. This is an in-person role at the company’s Oak Park, MI headquarters.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for integrating high and low voltage wiring which is the nervous system that interconnects the Electronic Control Units and drive motor controls throughout the entire vehicle. You will play a key role in design and releasing wiring packaging solutions directly with the Tier1 and manufacturing partners.

• Experience designing with inputs from several other commodities, including EDS suppliers & outside vendors while attaining durability & cost requirements.
• Knowledge of automotive standards including ISO 26262 & SAE/USCAR.
• Knowledge of Design for Assembly & Design for Manufacturing applied to wiring harnesses to support vehicle manufacturing partner & suppliers.
• Experience working with multi-Tier suppliers for development and issue resolution ensuring on-time deliveries of wiring harness families.
• Experience in automotive wiring harness development (EV/Hybrid is a plus).
• Able to work hands-on with prototype wiring harnesses outside & inside vehicle environments including the creation of assembly instructions.
• Understanding of CAN, LIN and automotive-based Ethernet communication.
• Prior release experience with OEMs/Tier1s is a plus. Experience in reviewing/assessing connector applications based on Interface Control Documents.
• Able to travel internationally to supplier sites and vehicle assembly plant as required.
• Wiring systems engineering experience is a plus.

• Proficient with Jira/Confluence/Jama or other similar tools.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or other relevant Engineering discipline.
• Experience with Tier1 application engineering process (3D-2D wiring flattening).
• 4-6+ years relevant professional experience in automotive wiring (OEM is a plus).
• Managing Engineering change processes (ECRs).
• Experience with CATIA V6 and Siemens PLM.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced start-up environment.
