SCOPE

The Manager, Web QA manages the Web QA Analyst in the Internet Business department at Mouser Electronics. This team creates and implements test cases, including documenting defects and failures, to ensure the integrity of a quality product.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Works directly with software developers, product managers, and content editors to evaluate and test new or modified software programs, communicate status, follow software development procedures to ensure that programs function according to user requirements and established guidelines.

Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendations for these employees regarding performance and change of status, including transfer, advancement, termination, and hiring.

Writes, revises and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain (maintain) quality of software.

Makes recommendations for program improvements or corrections

Exhibits leadership skills while spending the majority of time being hands-on; executing manual tests and scripting automated test scenarios

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

2-5 years QA experience (system, integration, functional, and regression testing)

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to lead and manage a team of people.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

2-5 years experience developing complex scripted tests using an automated test tools desired

Knowledge of JavaScript and how to QA in multiple browser environments.

Solid understanding of development lifecycle

Experience reviewing requirement documents to ensure that requirements are achieved

Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process

Working knowledge of SQL 2005/ 2008

Experience testing a variety of different types of software products, system architectures, OS platforms and languages desired

Excellent communication and trouble-shooting skills with keen ability to solve problems

Ability to work well independently and with a group

Well organized and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Accepts change positively and may help others adapt to change

Thrives in a team-oriented environment

Ability to work nights and weekends on an as-needed basis

Has acceptable driving record and can provide current, valid driver’s license and current proof of insurance
