Web Designer / Front End Developer

About the Position

The Front End Web Developer is part of the Web support team that brings great ideas to life. Our team is highly collaborative across the Kellogg community including leadership, staff, faculty and students – as well as Kellogg marketing teams responsible for brand, design, UX, creative and comms. We develop, code, test and debug user interfaces on the Kellogg School website and other platforms. Work closely with design, UX, content, marketing and strategy teams to launch new and refreshed user experiences. Create and code solutions ensuring that business needs and requirements are met. The position has knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript with an emphasis on creating and refining digital user experiences that advance reputation, engagement and conversion goals.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Support and train non-technical web editors on existing Sitecore workflows.
• Develop and track transactional marketing campaigns involving email, PPC, display and social media.
• Demonstrate strong client service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong desire to learn new languages and technologies, stay updated with new technologies, trends and best practices of web development.
• Incorporate marketing, content, testing and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Salesforce, Optimizely) to achieve and measure results.
• Achieve lead generation and other business goals through use of SEO best-practices, A/B testing and personalization.
• Document agreed-upon requirements, code development and revisions.
• Collaborate with design, UX and broader project teams to translate business and user requirements into coded solutions.
• Maximize use of templates and our Sitecore CMS to create sustainable, reusable code and components for future use.
• Provide estimation for assigned tasks.
• Develop and test cross-browser, responsive solutions utilizing HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
• Perform quality assurance and website testing to ensure user experience both during and after development of websites. Report and help resolve user experience problems across mobile, desktop and other devices to inform broader team including back end development.
• Work closely within project teams to set expectations, communicate about the status of the project and confirm deliverables.
• Evaluate and plan for new feature requests and third-party integrations.
• Provide technical guidance and solution options during the planning and development stage of new digital assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years hands on web development experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
• Portfolio of strong, relevant work samples

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

• Front End development knowledge of enterprise CMS tools such as Sitecore, Adobe AEM or Salesforce

Preferred Qualifications:

• Back End web development experience
• React.js development experience
• Knowledge of Tealium CDP and tag management
