Front End Developer - React.js - Sporting Industry

About Our Client
The client focuses on Youth Sports and Development. The offer a robust platform that organizes national events, practice and game schedules as well as individual athletes data. Having experienced tremendous growth in recent years they are looking for a Senior Front End Developer to play a key role in continuing to grow their platform.
They're currently the leading provider of technology solutions for all of the youth sports team in the US, operating web and mobile platforms with over 1M on boarded users. They have a clear career path with a chance to grow within the company to a managerial or leader role. They develop greenfield projects designed to enhance the experience of youth athletes and simplify the process of scheduling and making payments for their parents.
This is a hybrid opportunity with commute to the office required once a week.

• Translate business requirements or needs into actionable software development roadmaps and architecture.
• Perform daily stand ups with team members to ensure optimal success and efficiency.
• Use, rework, and adapt existing web applications for mobile apps.
• Remain up to date with development breakthroughs and follows best practices.
• Create and test software prototypes when needed.
• Participate in discussions involving future developments, gaps in technology, external vendors and managing current software vendors.
• Take charge of development team without needing micromanagement from upper leadership.
• Work with developers working in JavaScript/HTML/CSS (React.Js preferred but not required) - with the opportunity to jump in and code wherever necessary.

The Successful Applicant

• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• A desire to have an impact on the world with the software being developed.
• Interest in a hybrid model in the Highland Park office up to twice a week.
• Experience using SQL databases - either relational and/or non-relational experience.
• Clear documentation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/HTML/CSS (React.JS preferred but not required).
• Strong attention to detail, always looking to create robust solutions that minimize excess redundancies.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in software development
