The Web Architect is expected to significantly impact and drive digital transformation & cross-industry solutions with deeper focus on solutions that span multiple technical areas. They do this by architecting and orchestrating solutions that map customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.
This position is available in Lincolnshire, IL or Mississauga, Canada offices. Also available as a remote opportunity in United States.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in opportunity development focused on complex solutions in line with Zebra and solution strategy
- Drives and delivers strategy through leading Technology decisions and proving expertise across multi domain solutions & offerings
- Drives delivery excellence ensuring quality customer transformation plans and solutions are delivered in the application architectural space.
- Make architectural decisions as part of a software architecture team, and mentor others in the use of the resulting architecture.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with software development quality standards.
- Performs risk management and architectural oversight for solutions
- Responsible for Business to Technology Strategy
- Provides effective leadership of Technical Delivery teams; driving high performance, architecture governance, and collaboration between all parts of the Zebra cross collaborative stakeholders across the lifecycle of solutions
- Communicate tasking estimation and progress regularly to a project manager through appropriate tools.
- Collaborate with designers, testers, project and product managers, and project sponsors.
- Demonstrates valuable customer/partner interactions in driving deeper customer relationships via their earned credibility
- Leads complex efforts to deliver profitable business results and maximize business value positively impacting customer value realization
- Demonstrates an understanding of the Customer/Partner change management process and adoption principles
- Maps technology to business expectations by providing traceable business outcomes while limiting technical debt
- Create Proof-of-Concept applications and layout a path for a team of software engineers to mature those applications into fully released applications.
- Contributes to the shared account team planning activities across Zebra teams, where appropriate in coordination with the Strategic Business Development lead and Solution Manager
- Build modular components that can be shared across apps.
- Create the next generation architecture for Zebra’s web applications.
- Work in an Agile-like, iterative development process.
- Quantifies the needs of the business to achieve value outcomes, champions required methodology, captures/reuses IP and shares recommended practices
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Exposure in writing procedures, documentations in Cloud Security/ Web application Security.
- Expertise in web application development using Java/.NET and microservices architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree relevant to Information Technology/Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in providing architectural design and implementation for web and mobile applications.
- 12+ years of experience in software development
- Experience in a customer-facing role within the enterprise space, translating customer needs and requirements into solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree with 8 + years’ experience
- Experience delivering business and technical presentations at the executive level both internally and externally
- Experience leading collaborative teams within ambiguous, fast-paced, and highly matrixed environments
- Advanced experience and understanding in working with new emerging technologies, methodologies, system architectures, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, point cloud data and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space
- Experience with Rest API, ReactJS, Spring boot, Microservices architecture, Google Pub/sub, Android and iOS platforms, web optimization and tuning.
- Advanced experience in Agile frameworks, methodologies and operating models
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced experience with database technologies, data integration, analytics, and distributed data architectures.
- Advanced experience delivering business and technical presentations at the executive level both internally and externally.
- Advanced experience in Agile frameworks, methodologies and operating models
- Advanced experience and understanding in working with new emerging technologies, methodologies, system architectures, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, point cloud data and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space

Salary: USD 129800.00 - USD 194600.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
