Summary of Position:
The primary function of the Capitol Building Supply, Inc. Warehouse Manager is responsible all areas of warehouse maintenance, product storage and the management of warehouse employees. They will provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that equipment is maintained to company operating standards
- Be able to organize the warehouse and manage bin locations
- Manage inventory accuracy by monitoring daily warehouse activities, load checking, cycle counts, stock rotation, non-stock items, return’s for credit and the unloading of shipments to the yard.
- Training new warehouse/driver personnel
- Must be able to think for yourself-problem solve
- Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service
- Maintain health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy
- Provide dispatch support as needed / required
- Managing the daily operations of a warehouse and support fleet operations assuring timely and cost effective service levels
- Liaison between drivers, customers and warehouse personnel
Other Competencies:
- Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers
- Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry and building materials
- High School diploma Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Physical Demands:
- Frequently, will move about inside the office and warehouse
- Must be able to operate basic office machinery
- Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must be able to remain in stationary position 50%
- Constantly in warehouse environment
Mental Demands:
- Must be able to receive and analyze information
- Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement
- Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur
- Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks
- Must be able to manage stress depending on tasks
- Must be able to multitask
