Warehouse Manager
Reports to: Director, DC Operations
Comp: $70,000 - 85,000K + Bonus Eligible + Full Time Associate Benefits
Position Summary
The Manager, Warehouse Operations and Fulfillment has overall responsibility for the safe and efficient daily operations of the warehouse, specifically inventory management, production, quality, and shipping & receiving. This role will be expected to lead with a continuous improvement mindset while identifying opportunities to create efficiencies and drive productivity, all while maintaining a commitment and dedication to the safety of those around them.
Essential Job Functions
Performance & Talent Management (20%)
- Manage staffing within the guidelines established, including overtime and temporary employees. Reviews staffing strategy and identifies opportunities for efficiencies, cost savings, and process improvements to ensure optimal staffing planning for the distribution network.
- Ensures consistency in application of policy and expectations.
- Responsible for the direct management of 2 Supervisors and indirect leadership of approximately 15-25 employees.
- Lead employee engagement efforts in collaboration with human resources while maintaining a culture of open communication and transparency.
- Ensure all employees on team have the appropriate training and tools to do their jobs in the proper manner.
- Main point of contact & liaison between warehouse and all other internal stakeholders (cultivation, retail, manufacturing).
Operations Strategy & Planning (60%)
- Develop and maintain the inventory stocking/fulfillment systems
- Stay current on new and emerging technologies and processes that may improve the safety and productivity.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to effective schedule and fulfill orders for clients.
- Ensure 5S and housekeeping processes are maintained to comply with supplier quality / audit requirements.
- Ensure Compliance, POS, and ERP systems are accurate and used to manage inventory and receive & shipping compliantly. Send daily status report of systems performance to key stakeholders.
- Partner effectively with key stakeholders across all departments to ensure the most efficient receiving, warehousing, fulfillment and loading for delivery of product.
- Ensure all inbound and outbound inventory meets quality requirements
- Assist the Director, Distribution Operations to design, develop and plan upgrades to equipment, identify efficiencies or safety enhancements and optimize stocking, pick/pak and fulfillment operations.
- Utilize data to identify, develop, and implement process changes to improve the overall safety and efficiency of warehouse.
- Responsible for managing the assigned budgetary line items for multi-million dollar budget for warehouse.
Compliance / Safety (20%)
- Maintain the appropriate chains of custody for all cannabis related product; ensure all product is accurately managed via METRC and subsequent systems
- Responsible for ensuring all employees receive the proper training on all related policies and procedures.
- Assist with the completion of Incident Reports and ensure thorough, unbiased investigations are completed in a timely fashion.
- Create, maintain, and sustain a culture of safety throughout the warehouse operations, including driving safety messages, communication around safety and leading safety efforts throughout.
- Ensure all safety violations are handled consistently and fairly across all shifts.
- Ensure all items are labeled and distributed in a compliance with the City & State MED requirements
- Overall responsibility for the safety and well-being of all employees on team as well as the safekeeping of all assets within area of responsibility.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve upon the Schwazze Safety Protocols for the distribution center
Required Experience & Education
- Capability to build a strong and positive operations function culture, with teamwork and collaboration serving as the foundation.
- Ability to solve problems without guidance in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to interpret and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness and improve processes.
- Strong computer skills and expert in all MS Office applications; previous experience with VIP preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks at the same time.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills; also requires excellent interpersonal skills and ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as vendors.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an MED Badge in the state of Colorado.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience with at least 2 years of management experience, including management of both hourly and salaried employees.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk in a warehouse environment, which includes refrigerated space.
- This position requires the ability to repeatedly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business (typically Monday – Friday 6AM- 4PM), some travel may be required.
