Job Description

Responsibilities:

The VP, Product Management owns the product vision, strategy, and roadmap delivery for a product portfolio that includes GRC and BC&R within Riskonnect Integrated Risk Management solution. They lead a team of product management professional in defining the product vision, guiding key decision and prioritized development resource to achieve both short term results and long-term strategy for assigned product lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for a multi product/multi platform portfolio.
  • Perform market research to ensure that assigned product lines are best in market, position effectively and priced competitively.
  • Working with the Sr. Director, Product Commercialization and Product Marketing responsible for GTM planning and operational readiness for new product launches.
  • Prioritize the roadmaps and product management projects based on feedback from multiple sources and balancing the needs of new features, client deliverables and technology debt.
  • Build, coach, and mentor a team of product management professions.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to scope, prioritize and build the product roadmap.
  • Lead a team of product management professionals to successfully deliver on product success plans.
  • Develop business cases/benefit analysis/ROI analysis to help in portfolio prioritization and sales efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership Qualities: The VP must demonstrate the ability to continuously drive results both personally and by effectively leading a team. The position is also one of immense pressure and must have the ability to navigate complex situations and tasks with calmness and composure.
  • Collaboration: This is a highly collaborate role. The VP must work in collaboration with every department in the organization in the performance of their duties. The VP also works closely with the business’s other departmental VPs and Sr. Directors to align their vision and objectives (OKRs) for their departments with the product plan and roadmap.
  • T echnical Skills: Experience with managing multiple product lines across multiple technical stacks. Demonstrated successful experience in large scale integration projects. Understanding of technical architecture and modern development practices. Experience with AHA, ADO and JIRA is required.
  • Education: A minimum of BS/BA in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or an equivalent in working experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The position involves communication both up and down the organization, to clients and to prospects. The VP will regularly be required to make presentations to stakeholders and must, possess communication skills that enable them to clearly present, articulate, and defend their findings and recommendations to the stakeholders a way that they can relate to and easily understand. The position will involve regular and constant presentations to all collaborating product and development team members, clients, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal/People Skills: The VP must have both strong interpersonal and people skills. Interpersonal skills will facilitate smooth collaboration between multiple departments and eliminate unnecessary delays. This will ensure that all function areas collaborate successfully so that new features and products are executed promptly, efficiently, and effectively. People skills allow the Sr. Director to generate excitement for the visions and goals and convince people to follow them. People skills make an individual easy to relate to and makes team members delighted and ready to follow directives
  • Strategy: it is expected that they play the leading role in the creation and execution of product strategies for their assigned portfolio and to also assist their team members in developing their own strategic planning skills. The VP is also expected to support the Sr. VP in creating an overall IRM vision and roadmap.
  • Administrative Skills: The VP is responsible for the successful commercialization of products within their assigned product portfolio which requires a high degree of project management skills.
  • Experience: 10+ years in product management positions with increasing responsibilities. Demonstrated success in operating complex product strategies, rationalizing products, driving migration/retirement of legacy platforms, large scale integration projects and leading hands-on execution of the strategies. Prior experience managing products within the GRC, BC&R, or Risk Management space is required.
  • Analytical Skills: The VP will engage in research and strategy formulation in conjunction with other departments, emphasis on collaboration with the sales and marketing departments. They must possess analytical skills that ensure accurate interpretation of research information and accurate formulation of the most suitable product approaches and strategies.
