Pay Range: The pay range for this Washington-based role is $210,000 – $275,000. Exact compensation offers will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
This role may be eligible for a new hire equity grant and/or a performance-based equity incentive plan.
Job Summary:
MicroVision has an immediate opportunity for VP of Operations. As a key leader of MicroVision's growing team, you will collaborate with various technical teams in the company to design and take into production our market-defining Automotive LiDAR products. The VP of Operations will be responsible for quality, product integrity, factory operations, supply chain and future production planning, and Supplier Development Engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in the automotive sector as well as experience building and leading global teams. This position will sit in our Redmond WA offices, managing personnel in Hamburg and in Redmond.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive design review and risk assessment with APQP processes to ensure quality and product integrity through the production and delivery of products to market.
- Plan, direct, coordinate and oversee operational activities of the company, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering team to understand future product development plans and identify strategies for future production needs.
- Drive company wide effort for design for cost and manufacturability.
- Identify, implement, and oversee 3rd party factory operations to ensure the successful production of products at scale.
- Oversee Quality Assurance team and ensure processes are in place to achieve and maintain ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and related certifications.
- Partner with suppliers to help them improve processes and consistent product quality; Source and qualify new suppliers.
- Coordinate with various internal teams to drive actions.
- Manage Supplier Development Engineering, including developing, maintaining, and improving the supplier base.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid problem-solving skills, including analytical, organizational, and time management.
- Strong business acumen, negotiating skills and good judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
- Proven track record as a leader with a solid understanding of management practices
- Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
- Attention to detail while managing complex processes.
Required Education and Key Experience:
- Multi-team management experience
- 10+ years’ experience in Operations, Engineering management or factory operations.
- Global management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in the Automotive industry with a proven track record of streamlining or improving company operations.
