VP of Investor Relations and Capital Markets

A rapidly growing medical products company is looking to add a VP of Investor Relations and Capital Markets to their team. This person will report into the CFO while working hand in hand with the CEO and other senior leaders driving the strategy and execution of a capital raising process and serve as the key contact to current and potential investors. The company has experienced 100% year over year, profitable growth, in revenue and is at point where they are looking for additional capital from institutional investors to reinvest in the business. The company is HQ’d in the Houston area but open to a candidate who sits elsewhere and is open to travel for internal or investor meetings.

Role:

The VP of Investor Relations and Capital Markets will be responsible for structuring & leading the fundraising process, developing investor pitch decks, advising founders, and communicating the story of the organization with institutional investors. In addition, the role will be responsible for current investor relationship management, reporting and additional fundraising. This individual will report to the CFO and will support Senior leadership on strategic finance initiatives, financial modeling, and business expansion opportunities.

Responsibilities:

· Design fundraising strategy that aligns with organization’s growth plans

· Establish and manage a strong, multifaceted investor relations program with the goal of reaching out to accredited prospects to boost institutional investor awareness and to accomplish the company's long-term mission.

· Identify potential financial opportunities and develop proper points of contact, to establish direct relationships for capital raising activities

· Manage the company's attendance at investor events, including setting up one-on-one meetings with investors and roadshow activities, as well as selecting the right investors (new or old) for each such event.

· Work alongside the executive team to define the pitch used in investor meetings; practice the pitch with the executives and help the management team preempt investor questions

· Lead process of the development of all marketing materials used in the capital raising process

· Ensure current investor satisfaction and provide necessary reporting and communication with an eye toward future re-up commitments and referrals

· Support CFO and Senior leadership on strategic finance initiatives and business growth opportunities such as M&A and market expansion

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree / MBA (preferred) in Finance, Economics or related analytical discipline preferred

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and proven track record fundraising success

· 3 to 5 years of fundraising success in working with companies, investors, and financial sponsors to originate and review financials, analyze the market, and guide transactions

· Must have a proven record of raising capital in the healthcare or health-tech industry

· Financial management experience with planning, forecasting, and business analysis

· Advanced Excel proficiency. 3+ years of experience of using Excel to build and maintain financial models

· Comfortable with business development and relationship management

· Experience coaching executives on the delivery of investor pitches
