Job Description

Bill Watts at Robert Half is working with a growing manufacturing client located in the Troy, Michigan area who is looking to directly hire a Vice President of Finance as a key leadership role within this small, growing manufacturing company, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This position plays a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring its financial health, and contributing to its overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business growth.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and make recommendations to senior management.
  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  1. Cash Management:
  • Implement effective cash management and treasury strategies.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support daily operations.
  • Monitor and optimize banking relationships, loans, and credit facilities.
  1. Cost Management:
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee cost control initiatives to enhance profitability.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  1. Financial Compliance:
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  1. Strategic Partnerships:
  • Work closely with the CEO or President to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives.
  1. Investment and Capital Planning:
  • Assess the financial feasibility of new projects or acquisitions.
  • Ensure effective use of company capital and resources.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and capital allocation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in finance leadership roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • Experience with M&A and due diligence is mandatory
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of strategic financial management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
