Job Description

Deca Development Group is a network of independent ERP software partners under a common ownership group that encourages collaboration. Deca serves as a hands-on Board of Directors, working with leadership to set goals, execute on strategic initiatives, support employees, and grow over multiple decades.


Deca is looking for a strategic change-agent to be the next Sr. Director / Vice President of Finance for one of our Operating Companies, Strategic Information Group, located in Rock Hill, SC.


Role Overview

The Sr. Director/VP of Finance will lead the Global Finance and Accounting function in both a strategic and operational capacity. They will put complex data — current, past, and predicted financial results — in perspective, partnering with the CEO to make sound financial decisions for the business. They can flex from providing hands-on accounting leadership to being a highly strategic interpreter of results for the executive team, board, and investors. The Sr. Director / VP of Finance will be excited to redesign financial processes and systems to maximize accuracy and efficiency.



The Sr. Director/VP of Finance will serve as the Company’s keeper of the business model through to leading analysis of financial outcomes, projecting future financial outcomes and delivering financial thought leadership designed to drive positive financial outcomes. The role serves as the CEO’s thought partner for financial/business model items.


This role will report directly to the CEO and is located in the Rock Hill, SC with the option for a hybrid work schedule.


Essential Functions

Translates CEO’s vision & strategy into the financial forecasting model.

  • Reviews historical results to identify trends and inform future projections.
  • Assists in analyzing the financial impact of growth opportunities (acquisitions, new products, new service offerings, etc.)


Acts as the primary point of contact for executive team.

  • Assists with analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Provides financial models to assist with business decisions.
  • Participates in periodic executive weekly and quarterly meetings, as requested.


Functions as the primary point of contact for external relationships:

  • Participates in weekly meetings with parent company.
  • Lead negotiations as applicable (Ex: Leases, Insurance, etc.)
  • Serves as the Finance point of contact for PE parent company.
  • Bankers, CPAs, Tax, Insurance, etc.
  • Participates in periodic parent company financial leadership events.
  • Leads monthly MD&A (Management Discussion & Analysis) calls.


Manages international relationships and compliance issues.

  • Ensures all accounting activities are completed maintaining GAAP principles.


Leads FP&A activities including, but no limited to:

  • Delivers Board/MD&A Presentations
  • Finalizes Monthly Financial Reporting
  • Develops, manages, and provides analysis for financial KPI’s


Responsible for Balance Sheet management

  • Manages longer term cash resources supportive of CEO’s vision.
  • Manages Chart of Accounts in conjunction with parent company.


Seeks cost savings & profitability opportunities.


Oversees the development and implementation of accounting policies and maintains responsibility for final policy sign-off and approval.


Implements proper Financial Risk mitigation strategies, including:

  • Accounting process policies and procedures
  • Corporate Insurance Policies
  • Financial Controls


Helps define and implement company pricing strategies.


Defines accounting department priorities and focuses of effort (set the plan for the accounting department).


Skills & Abilities

  • Ideal to have experience in Professional Services firm.
  • Experience working for a PE-owned employer.
  • CPA (required)
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with international subsidiaries
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to be a change agent (required)
  • Minimum of 8-10 years progressive managerial experience


Physical Requirements

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach.
  • Ability to focus on computer screens for extensive periods of time.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.



Work Environment

  • In-office position with normal office environment or hybrid in-office/remote environment.


Travel

  • Occasional travel is required for this role.
