Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an exceptional Vice President of Engineering to join ACV Auctions and help lead the next exciting phase of our company’s growth. The VP of Engineering will be someone who has a demonstrated history of innovative solutions to technical team building at a fairly rapid pace. The ideal candidate will have a background working with a highly technical and rapidly growing organization and understands the importance of effectively scaling a Software Engineering organization. This person will have an expert-level understanding of System and Software Design, be able to implement engineering wide security standards and ensure security compliance for the business, and effectively contribute to and influence a thriving software engineering culture.
What you will do:

• Manage and lead your reports and resources to execute on the ACV Auctions engineering vision. This includes constant recruiting, mentoring, and the development of individuals on your team.
• Assist in the planning and development of a new company office.
• Manage and lead your reports and resources to execute on the ACV Auctions engineering vision. This includes constant recruiting, mentoring, and the development of individuals on your team.
• Identify and assist in building a team of Front and Back-End, Mobile (Android & iOS) and DevOps Engineers.
• Own, manage and execute the strategy, roadmap, and technical implementation of various projects and company initiatives deliver key results.

What you will need:

• Comfort in working at a company where data really matters is a requirement.
• Proven ability to influence cross functional teams while maintaining the respect of their team.
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Marketplace experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success of building teams of Software Engineers.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience managing a team of Software Engineers
• Team player who is passionate and can help cultivate a thriving culture.
• Significant experience in a high tech / software engineering setting.
• 10 plus years' experience in a product-focused software technology organization(s) experience
• Superb communication skills - You should be able to cultivate strong working relationships, communicate effectively, write meticulously, and give outstanding presentations
