Ascendo is working with an established international asset management firm on a Controller role to oversee accounting, Financial Operations, and administrative departments, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop a team of finance professionals
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Oversee the financial accounting and reporting functions of the firm
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
• Prepare financial reports for the executive team and the Board of Directors
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
• Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and business plans
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience with progressive responsibility in accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications that offer support in financial reporting and spreadsheets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a concentration in Financial Accounting preferred.
• CPA preferred
• International company experience required
• Ability to clearly convey financial statistics and technical terminology.
• A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who can partner with management on all financial matters.
