Job Description
Job Summary:
We are a team of free thinkers and we design valuable, and scalable solutions for our customers. Our product directly improves the user experience and efficiency of 4800+ analysts at Chase. This means, your designs are directly impacting ~ 38,000 hours per day! You will get to work with a senior team of product managers and engineers to deliver a fundamental shift in the way the bank thinks about and uses data.
Job Responsibilities
  • Establish and manage relationships with the analyst community . Develop deep subject matter expertise in specific areas of Chase data in order to drive a backlog of dataset design and development
  • Take on novel business problems and explore opportunities to deliver great things
    • Dissect complex business problems into a plan that can be executed and drive outcomes
    • Propose new ways to process, organize and access Chase data in our analytical platforms
  • Define the vision and roadmap for future data products
    • Bring order to disparate business needs with high tolerance for ambiguity, very strong problem-solving ability, and excellent client engagement skills . Articulate business value for specific datasets, including defining quantitative and qualitative product success criteria . Incorporate both the tactical requirements and strategic needs of our analysts into the roadmap and vision for data products
    • Pivot quickly as client guidance evolves, always keeping the ultimate product objectives in mind. Manage evolving user needs while continuously learning quickly on-the-job . Deliver a product you believe in, sell its benefits across the user base, and innovate to be the best product available to get the job done.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams focused on building data pipelines for production use across analytic environments both on-prem and in Cloud
    • Design datasets and data products intended to drive value . Maintain and refine product backlog through consistent agile ceremonies and events . Serve as a liaison between product, engineering, and architecture teams to identify the design approach and stay accessible for iterating through development
    • Verify the delivered features meet the business requirements through validation and user testing . Schedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes for data products . Develop and maintain documentation required to ensure consistency and high quality of data for use in even the most rigorously controlled use cases

  • Become a trusted advisor and thought leader on how the business uses data

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experience in big data ecosystems with data modeling, semantic layers , and how large amounts of data are stored in enterprise level systems . Big plus if you have utilized common vocabularies and linked data concepts for machine-readable data products
  • Educational or on-the-job experience in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Information Management) . Knowledge of Agile and Scrum, including tools such as Jira and Confluence, to write stories, maintain a healthy backlog and drive delivery of user focused value . Knowledge of Financial Institutions a plus.
  • Strong technology background with the communication skills to articulate technical matters to a broader audience . Demonstrate a solid understanding of SQL, Python, and other data engineering tools
  • Interest in modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development processes . Ability to operate in fast paced, detail-oriented organization
