Key Function: The Akris Visual Merchandising Coordinator will consistently facilitate and execute Akris visual merchandising direction to provide an elevated and consistent client experience across all boutiques and wholesale outlets. The VM Coordinator will be a part of a dynamic and creative atmosphere, working with cross-functional partners to ensure Akris visual merchandising standards are continuously elevating the client experience. The position reports to the Visual Merchandising Manager and is based in the NYC Corporate Office.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize company tools, visual talent and knowledge to plan and execute merchandising of the windows and floor, incorporating appropriate store specific adaptations as necessary.
- Assist VM Manager in creating event and seasonal visual guidelines, special project presentations for internal/external distribution.
- Partner with VM Manager, commercial team, and boutique managers to elevate visual presentations. In partnership with VM Manager identify store/market specific differentiation and implement brand appropriate solutions to address unique needs.
- Personally support each season's trends and the brand's forward direction through uniform and personal appearance.
- Maintain retail boutiques and office visual supplies; keeping items stocked, organized and accounted for.
- Manage bimonthly photo submissions from retail boutiques, providing timely and insightful feedback.
- Support VM Manager in back of house management, photography, fashion presentation prep and styling during Akris and Akris punto market 4x year, including weekends.
- Support NY wholesale and retail events and key events outside of NY in styling, visual elements & fashion presentation.
- Support seasonal trend hunting and inspiration research, bimonthly competitor window reports.
- Manage monthly recap reports from retail and wholesale to submit to global VM team, corporate executives, and creative director.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to take direction, multi-task and manage shifting priorities.
- Strong initiative, independent, takes ownership and accountability.
- Strong aesthetic and visual design/styling experience.
- Must have ability to lift, push and pull at least 50lbs
- Passion for visual merchandising and fashion.
- Ability to work within budget and cross sourcing/costing to maximize efficiency and value.
- Flexibility to work select nights and weekends, ability to travel.
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.
- Strong time management skills – ability to set and achieve goals in a timely manner, react quickly in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills--written and verbal communication; listening and follow through. Ability to articulate and explain ideas and concepts.
