Job Duties: Vice President with Folio Financial, Inc. in McLean, Virginia. Production engineering role responsible for partnering with various stakeholders on developing, enhancing, and maintaining the applications, systems and workflows that support the Firm’s global markets business and clients. Responsible for delivering digital services to our Registered Investment Advisor clients. Run and operate custody and trading systems that service institutional client needs at scale. Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot production processes to deliver top product quality through a broad range of client needs. Validate monitoring and batch processing to determine overall system health during market and aftermarket hours. Monitor and investigate reporting breaks and process batch job failures; synthesize and implement corrective actions. Work with users to perform end-to-end lower environment testing of new system assurance code flows to and from front and back-end database systems. Drive issues and incidents through closure engaging all appropriate resources. Lead technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction as needed. Provide recommended solutions to complex technical issues. Analyze data and metrics reports produced from batch jobs, maintain record of results and feedback; identify problem areas and provide actionable insight to teams and other stakeholders. Identify work items that would benefit from automation and work with developers, testers to automate those functions to streamline work across the teams. Participate in a release deployment and major market holiday activities for the platform.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years (with a Master’s degree) or five (5) years (with a Bachelor’s degree) with: working across the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users, through design, development, quality assurance (QA) testing and production release; working with Linux administrations including RedHat or CentOS; working with a scripting language including Python, Shell, or Perl; working with networking protocols such as Domain Name System (DNS), Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), or SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP); working with MySQL and relational databases and Performing data analysis, data model, and querying using Structured Query Language; working with a job scheduling application such as Autosys; working with modern monitoring and alerting technology such as Prometheus, SolarWinds or PagerDuty; working with Amazon Web Service (AWS) services including CloudWatch; working with an object-oriented programming language including Java; and using orchestration tools including at least one of the following: Gradle, Maven, Git, Subversion, Confluence Bamboo, or JIRA.
