Job Description

Confidential search for a VP of Manufacturing who can join this amazing failry early-stage company fighting climate change. Targeting Q4 of 2023, possibly Q1 2024 to fill the role.



The VP of Manufacturing will start by:

  • Begin qualifying vendors
  • Oversee assembly of the first product #1 and #2 (still within engineering team’s domain)
  • Lead cost-down work even for first product line builds #1 and #2
  • Learn about the product and infrastructure to be prepared to make impact. In this phase you will engage with the engineering team to learn the product and technology
  • Educate engineering team on quality, documentation, and supply chain without slowing overall progress (excited to lead some change management)


In 2025 (or sooner) you will:

  • Run the above pilot operation and be accountable for its financial, quality, and output performance
  • Interface with engineering to drive improvements to product (cost, features, and quality)
  • Establish pilot plant
  • Find, design, and commission pilot assembly facility (O(10) units/year) for product
  • Oversee quality, supply chain, and cost-down
  • Build manufacturing and operations team


In 2027 (or sooner) you will:

  • Expand manufacturing and operations
  • Run the above operation
  • Find, design, and commission scaled up assembly facility
  • Oversee quality, supply chain, and cost-down
  • Interface with engineering to drive improvements to product (cost, features, and quality)


In 2028 (or sooner) you will:

  • Expand manufacturing operation to include additional product lines
  • Add additional product lines (2028+)
