Mote is a fast-growing climate technology startup that removes CO2 from the air and creates clean hydrogen from wood waste. We are developing large-scale projects and unique technology to help the world meet climate goals, improve air quality, and reduce wildfires.

The Finance team is responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to help the company achieve its goals of rapid growth and success. The team does this by developing and implementing financial plans, managing cash flow, raising capital, and collaborating on techno-economic models.

Mote is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President/Head of Finance to lead our finance team and help us achieve our ambitious goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Mote’s financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and investor relations. This person needs a strong background in project finance and corporate finance, as well as management experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
• Manage the company's financial resources, including cash flow, investments, and debt.
• Ensure the company's financial statements are accurate and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
• Represent the company to financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the company's financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's overall business goals.
• Provide financial advice and support to the CEO and other senior executives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in structured finance
• Excellent management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet models and other finance tools

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong network of contacts in the financial industry
• Key player in successful development of +$100m capital projects
• Experience with the energy industry and public funding/incentives

Pay and Benefits

At Mote, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow with a role. Your base pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
