Vice President Finance - $350K

Future CFO Opportunity!

Our client, a fast-growing, multi-entity, top Heavy Civil Contractor building projects throughout Texas that self-performs its own excavation, underground, paving, and structures seeks a VP of Finance. This position, based in their Houston corporate office, will report to ownership and executive leadership (with the intention to assume the CFO position in the next 2-3 years) and manage the complete financial affairs of this growing $500M/yr group of construction companies.

• Base Salary, commensurate with experience & abilities ranging from $200K-$250K/year DOE
• Relocation reimbursement negotiable

Position:

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of accounting experience within a self-performing contractor in the $100M/yr to $2B+/yr range. The ideal candidate will have experience with mergers and acquisitions, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize work assignments at an executive level, a high level of attention to detail, and possess strong communication skills.

Select Requirements and Duties:

• Assess the effectiveness of the Finance & Accounting team and coordinate the creation of team and individual development programs with the CFO and Controller
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization
• Review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
• Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners
• Execute the financial strategy of the company and its 4 subsidiaries
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for lenders and the company’s owners
• Review contracts and provide financial guidance to the executive team
• Continuously evaluates and adjusts the short- and long-term strategic financial objectives
• Coordinate with the Corporate Controller in the preparation of the monthly financial budgeting reports, monthly financial statements and variance reports, and weekly cash flow reports by division
• Maintain a working relationship with the firms’ outside CPA, Banks, and Insurance and Bonding firms
• Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in strategic corporate financial planning
• Experience with Trimble Viewpoint Accounting and Project Management software preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related major
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions
• 15+ years of construction accounting experience with 10+ years in a supervisory role
