Overview

Essential Function

The UI/UX Developer is charged with evolving and improving the digital experience across multiple platforms for an established retail Ecommerce organization. Responsibilities include creating wireframes and mockups as well as keeping abreast of and responding to ever-evolving business and customer needs.

Primary Duties

• 25% Partner with the analytics team to iterate evolving and improved customer experiences based on customer behavior. Lead or participate in user research and testing to refine the customer journey. Understand and develop personas and customer journeys within the eCommerce platform. Possess an understanding and empathy for the customer.
• 35% Design screens and pages with which the customer interacts and communicate a clear path to the customers ideal destination. Ensure that the customer journey logically flows from one step to the next. Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, and specifications as needed. Create innovative and intuitive solutions to complex problems.
• 20% Create and advance a cohesive visual style guide ensuring a consistent design language, and consult with and educate fellow team members on this language as well as best digital practices. Maintain consistency in visual elements.
• 20% Stay on the cutting edge of digital trends and best practices in digital design, applying this knowledge to all assignments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• A strong portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates proficiency in interaction and visual design.
• 5+ years experience, retail eCommerce experience preferred.
• Bachelors degree required, preferably in computer science, graphic or interactive design, or psychology.
• Business and marketing acumen.
• 3+ years experience as UX/UI Designer.
• Proficiency with design tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, and Axure.
• Proficiency in mobile and responsible design practices for web, mobile, and tablet platforms.
