Mid-Level Ux Designer - Contract, Remote (U.s.)

As a UX/UI designer at UpTop you will work on various projects using a design thinking mindset and lean UX methodology. You will be a generalist capable of performing user research, data analysis, concept design, prototyping, or usability testing. You will need to be able to see a project from start to finish and deliver high quality and value. You will need to work both collaboratively with others, and independently with guidance from more senior team members. But most of all, you will need to possess the following traits for success: Be Smart, Hungry, Humble, and always Curious.

• Balance user, business, and technology goals
• Implement or extend existing client brand style
• Build interactive, clickable prototypes via Figma
• Perform UX research activities including stakeholder/user interviews, journey mapping, survey building and analysis, card sorting, tree testing, and landscape analysis
• Perform project discovery and requirements gathering
• Design simple and intuitive user interfaces leveraging UX best practices on any device or platform
• Visual design capabilities with a good sense of type, color, and layout
• Prepare detailed designs as needed for development including user states, interactions, and annotations
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams including sales, project management, and development
• Create wireframes (mid to hi-fidelity)
• Experience in gathering both quantitative and qualitative data and converting into actionable insights

• Embrace the iterative design process while balancing project delivery timelines
• Minimum 5 years of professional or related design experience within an agency, in-house design team, or freelancing
• Acute analytical skills and superb attention to detail
• Demonstrated visual design capability that is attractive and polished
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Possess a growth mindset
• Work effectively on multiple, concurrent projects
• Strong work ethic
• Work effectively in a team environment including close interaction with clients
• Have good understanding of user-centered design methodologies and best practices

• Self-manage small scale design projects if needed
• Apply strategic and tactical thinking when needed

• Previous entrepreneur or agency experience
