Join us for a 12-week paid Summer 2023 in-person or remote Internship designed to let you apply your classroom learnings to real world challenges. Our internships have a thoughtful balance of networking, executive speakers, community involvement, big meaty projects (no paper filing here!) and fun!

What you’ll do on the Design System team:

  • Create hi-fidelity mockups and prototypes
  • Collaborate with product designers, visual designers, technical writers, and software engineers to improve the design system website
  • Follow the existing work processes while contributing to improvements
  • Meet and implement feedback from the design system users, other designers, and developers across the organization
  • Assist in documenting issues and design decisions
  • Take ownership of your projects and guide them from beginning to end
  • Work closely with software engineers to make sure the implementation meets the design definitions
  • Design engaging website UI to document HP's design system

We are looking for the following skills:

  • Experience with software design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
  • Interest in design systems
  • Great organization and attention to detail
  • Disciplined time management
  • Spirit of collaboration
  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills and disciplines
  • Thoughtful, constructive critiquing
  • A strong understanding of visual and user interface design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience Required:

  • Computer Science, Design, or Fine Arts preferred
  • High School Degree 3rd Year of University completed - typically a technical degree specialization.
