Locally owned and operated Ruoff Mortgage is looking for quality candidates with experience in mortgage lending or sales to work at our Corporate Headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana! This position is full-time and includes a competitive salary, full benefits and eligibility for commission.

Position Summary

The Ruoff Transaction Coordinator is responsible for getting active mortgage customers to the closing table. This position facilitates individual applications and acts as a liaison between processing, underwriting, closing and the borrower. Great phone and interpersonal skills, excellent time management, drive and a self-motivated personality are paramount.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs various reporting functions, compliance reviews, and loan processing administrative functions, as needed.
  • Make calls to existing customers, as assigned, to retain existing business, collect needed documentation/information and coordinate important appointments like appraisals and closings.
  • Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for a high level of confidentiality and security while handling personal information; verbal and/or written documentation.
  • Responsible for the overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from approval to closing including, but not limited to: counseling obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fee and lock-in information; overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms; assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communicating loan status to all interested parties.
  • Performs other tasks as requested.
Requirements:

Experience and Training

  • Employee must remain current on any and all applicable registration, licensing and training obligations required under the SAFE Act and/or any other state, federal or local laws pertaining to Loan Officer Certification or standards
  • Customer Service or Sales Experience: 1 year (Required)
  • May consider less experience if recent college graduate.
  • Mortgage Origination or Loan Processing Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • An active mortgage loan originator license is preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to write accurate reports and documents; holds self to a high level of quality.
  • Ability to stay organized to easily retrieve information and documents as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of this position.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Employee must at all times be able to meet any and all applicable qualifications and standards required for Loan Officer Licensure under the SAFE Act.
  • Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic to obtain personal and company goals.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the appropriate state.
  • Must be comfortable working with the public, and able to make good decisions and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Mostly sedentary, however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; talk and hear.
  • Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.
  • Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time. Receiving and expressing detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone is essential. Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others.

  • Professional atmosphere in a branch environment
  • Routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinet and fax machine.
