HX5 is currently seeking a Software Engineer, Senior to support Hanscom Air Force Base, located in Bedford, MA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding of cloud architectures and impacts to testing methods
- Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks
- Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness
- Experience with Agile methods, including testing methods for CI/CD, DevSecOps and DevOps
- Operate with general instructions; but select portions of work are reviewed in detail to measure adequacy of approach, execution, and presentation
- Documenting the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end user operational testing
- Test Manager's Course certification or course completion desired
- Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problem, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity
- Experience with DoD Test and Processes
- Develop new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness
- De-conflict schedule conflicts between multiple releases, providing high quality analysis and recommendations to the program test lead
- Provide T&E technical and engineering support by documenting the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end-user operational testing
- Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion/fault identification)
- Prepare (or advise others in the preparation of) criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise
- Utilize and apply Design of Experiments methods to plan and conduct test programs.

- Independently prepare (or advise others in the preparation of) criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise

Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- OR, 15 years of directly related experience and eight (8) of which must be in the DoD
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of relevant experience, and five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of years of relevant experience, and five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
