Job Description

SUMMARY:Develop curriculum and facilitate classroom training for Adirondack Bank Tellers. Establish consistent delivery methods and expand the knowledge base of both new and existing Tellers. Further enhance the current procedures manual, authoring detailed procedures applicable to the teller role in the standard format to encompass all tasks and activities as well as policies and procedures that are applicable to the teller position. Must possess knowledge of applicable consumer compliance regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.Develop curriculum for a classroom training program for new Tellers.

2.Facilitate classroom training for Tellers new to their position.

3.Develop and deliver, testing tools to evaluate the progress of attendees.

4.Provide Area Operations Managers & Branch Operations Supervisors with progress reports and further development plans for attendees of teller training.

5.Conduct in-branch follow up on the progress of new trainees

6.Ensure uniformity and consistency in the methods by which sales and service disciplines are followed

7.Work closely with the SVP of Human Resources and VP Retail Operations – Retail Banking on further enhancements to the curriculum after it has been developed

8.Use curriculum established for new hires to offer workshops to experienced members of the Teller Teams to further promote consistency & expand their skills and knowledge.

9.Participate in all other training provided to tellers, including Fairmont Sales and Service Training

10.Possess knowledge of applicable consumer compliance regulations as well as policies and procedures of Adirondack Bank.

11.Create, seek approval and maintain up to date teller forms.

12.Author or revise all teller procedures to align with current processes

13.Facilitate technical training for all new hires during orientation sessions, to include sign-on procedures, an introduction to outlook, an introduction to BVS training, etc.

14.Participate in special assignments pertaining to Project Management initiatives. Work closely with other bank employees assigned to a project team and incorporate into the teller training curriculums all changes that pertain to project outcomes.

15.Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to BSA, Security, Information Technology, OFAC, Privacy & applicable BVS courses.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Operational Expertise - Must possess knowledge of all applicable ADK policies and procedures as well as consumer compliance regulations

Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills – clear, concise & timely (to include the ability to author procedures, curriculum, training tools and tests as well as preparing written evaluations of trainee performance and establishing goals for ongoing training)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary education in business, computers or banking & insurance
  • Public Speaking – demonstrated ability to effectively and articulately speak in front of groups while sufficiently teaching various curriculums
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in retail banking to include deposits, new accounts, lending etc. preferably at Adirondack Bank
  • Prior experience conducting one on one training, mentoring and/or coaching
