Job Description
Are you a skilled Technical Support professional looking to contribute your expertise to a dynamic team? Join us as a Technology Support Technician at our Company, where you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our technology infrastructure and providing exceptional support to our end users.
As a Technology Support Technician, you'll be an integral member of our IT team, ensuring the smooth operation of our technology systems. Your responsibilities will encompass providing technical assistance to end users, swiftly resolving technical issues, and proactively updating and maintaining systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-level, personalized technical support, including catering to VIP users and offering remote assistance.
Contribute to the development of desktop and application standards, images, and processes to enhance our technical services.
Collaborate with IT teams to guarantee timely issue resolution and effective communication.
Champion the alignment with IT security policies and procedures.
Your Duties Will Include
Providing technical support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Mac OS systems.
Troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and printer issues.
Creating and managing documentation for IT and non-technical users.
Conducting training sessions for end users and colleagues.
Participating in an on-call rotation and continuously enhancing technical skills.
Engaging with various IT service management processes and procedures.
Identifying and suggesting new IT solutions and services.
Collaborating with peers to ensure seamless operations.
Maintaining professional communication with end users.
Embracing the opportunity to learn and support new technologies.
Performing other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma required; BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred.
2-3 years of experience in Technical Support, preferably in a scientific or research environment.
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical users.
Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, with knowledge of Linux as a plus.
Familiarity with FreshService is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision.
Basic network troubleshooting experience.
Comfort with command-line commands interpretation.
Effective teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
Willingness to adapt to new technologies.
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
