SUMMARY:
The Technical Sales Representative’s primary purpose is to service and expand SNF’s agriculture market in the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities include working with existing customers to target the use of core SNF products to grow current business and target new business opportunities. The Technical Sales Representative will report to the Agriculture Sales Manager.
LOCATION:
Home Office in the Pacific Northwest (Southern Idaho, Washington Columbia Basin, or Montana).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide feedback to the R&D or technical departments on existing and potential customer requirements for new or existing products.
- Implementation and integration of new business / new products where applicable into our Core Sales organizations.
- Understand the safe handling, health and safety rules, and MSDS’s for products in our non-core markets. Explain to customers the safe handling, storage, and use of SNF products. Comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations applicable to the customer site.
- Obtain and evaluate external information on possible new markets and applications, dollar volume, pricing, and weigh the benefits that can be offered to a customer.
- Understand the global interfacing of SNF products, applications, and functions, including patents, R&D, technical logistics, sales and production, and planning.
- Follow up on all customer validations, needs, and orders, including delivery and quality issues, with sales, customer service, logistics, quality, QC, and R&D as necessary.
- Understand the SNF product range for the agriculture market. Thoroughly understand the list of potential customers and competitors in the NA market and technically position SNF products over the competition.
- Assist in Company sales growth and diversification by developing and growing the agriculture market with new or existing chemistries.
- Understand the environmental legislation and trends relative to the development of the agriculture market. Explain to customers the impact of environmental legislation on SNF products.
- Maintain a continuous liaison with customers and potential customers.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Agriculture Sciences is preferred.
- Ability to travel at least 30-40% of the time.
- Advance in Microsoft Office software.
- Self-motivation and strong work ethic.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal including listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- A minimum of 3 years of technical service or technical sales experience is required. Knowledge of water-soluble and super-absorbent polymers in agriculture or related industries would be beneficial.
