Job Summary
The Manufacturing Team Lead will serve as a subject matter expert in the front-line activities and processes of an area such as assembly, disassembly, machining, quality, warehouse, or logistics. The Manufacturing Team Lead will also be required to motivate, train, and develop front-line staff. This role will play an instrumental role in modeling and driving the Deutz AG values of the business, including safety, passion, a pioneering spirit, valuing knowledge, and taking ownership. The Manufacturing Team Lead will also assist in mentoring and coaching employee talent while driving continuous improvement in our processes. The Manufacturing Team Lead will liaise with shipping, production, pickers, and our operations Supervisor to accomplish line production needs and to keep up with scheduling daily shipping requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manufacturing Team Lead be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Initiate and assist in driving process improvements
  • Ensure that staff members are adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Perform and participate in safety improvement audits weekly
  • Effectively communicate, motivate, and develop front-line staff
  • Execute and lead in 5S responsibilities
  • Consistently lead and model the Deutz AG values among team
  • Lead, train, and coach manufacturing front-line staff to ensure requirements are met for production, quality, and employee safety
  • Will act as a key member in building and promoting a safe work environment and culture
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of production staff
  • Ensure production goals and quality standards are met on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Track and report KPIs of production areas
Supervisory Responsibilities: The role will have 6-8 direct reports (Pickers).
Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0 -10% depending on business needs.

Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or leadership experience required

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Must be Green Belt certified within 12 months of training.

Able to effectively communicate in a group setting

Knowledgeable and skilled in using mechanical tools

Skilled and able to think critically and problem solve

Ability to multitask & perform all physical requirements

Skilled with using Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training is preferred.
