POSITION SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers, both cloud and terrestrial. Installs hardware and software and participates in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the Technology Services needs of the organization. The Systems Administrator actively resolves problems and issues with computer and cloud server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.

What you need:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Fully vaccinated with an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine or, alternatively, have obtained an approved exemption as an accommodation
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Working administration knowledge of VoIP phone systems
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of API, SAML, and Federation in cloud apps
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, AWS, Azure, or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus
  • Box Admin
  • Office 365 Admin
  • Salesforce Admin
  • Fresh Service, ZenDesk, ServiceNow, or other cloud-based ITSM platform
  • Okta Admin


What you'll do:

  • Performs or delegates regular backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, failover procedures, and cloud redundancy.
  • Installs and upgrades computer components and software, manages virtual and cloud servers, and integrates automation processes.
  • Leads desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Serves as the highest point of escalation for customer tickets.
  • Provides documentation in the corporate Wiki and technical specifications to Technology Services staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Is customer-facing whenever necessary.
  • Troubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
