As the SVP of Sales and Marketing, you will be at the helm of a pioneering company that's shaping the future of electronic shelf labels. We are the industry leaders in fully graphic color ESLs, shipping millions of labels globally. Our mission is to enhance shopping experiences and optimize sales and profits for retailers. We're looking for a visionary leader who can help us expand our presence in the USA, Canada, and Europe.

As the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales and Marketing, you will report directly to the CEO and play a critical role in driving our sales and marketing strategies to new heights. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Accountabilities:
  • Marketing Enhancement: Elevating marketing functions and activities that support sales objectives.
  • Commercial Execution: Spearheading sales growth among existing customers and driving new customer acquisitions.
  • Team Expansion: Expanding the sales team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Vision: Developing and executing sales strategies to position us as a market leader in the USA, Canada, and Europe.
  • Inspiration: Motivating the sales and marketing teams, instilling a deep commitment to the company's future success.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the executive team to achieve business goals and key performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities - Sales Leadership:
  • Strategic Partnerships: Personally handling negotiation and closure of strategic contracts, building top-level customer and partner relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Implementing robust and scalable sales processes to enhance visibility and predictability of sales performance, including bid management, account planning, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Marketing Drive: Creating and driving effective marketing initiatives to support the sales team and promote the business.
  • Team Focus: Ensuring the sales team remains focused and accountable for achieving revenue and margin goals.
  • Channel Optimization: Developing direct and channel strategies to ensure commercial success, including expanding existing channel partnerships and direct prospects.
  • Strategic Sales Planning: Developing and executing a sales strategy to maximize short and long-term market opportunities.
  • Market Insight: Continuously reviewing and prioritizing opportunities through deep market trend understanding and competitive landscape analysis.
Key Responsibilities - People:
  • Integration: Integrating seamlessly into the company while being recognized as the executive sales leader.
  • Leadership: Providing strong leadership to the Sales and Marketing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Talent Development: Providing regular mentoring, development, and training opportunities for the team to enhance capabilities and skills as the business expands.
  • Culture Development: Driving cultural change towards a more market and growth-oriented perspective.
  • Direction: Offering guidance and direction to the marketing function.
Communication - Internal and External:
  • Transparency: Keeping all sales employees informed about the company's strategy and its performance against agreed-upon goals.
  • External Representation: Serving as a highly visible external spokesperson and 'evangelist' for the company, ensuring appropriate representation in key partnerships and forums.
Person Specification:
Knowledge / Experience:
  • Passion for hands-on sales and sales management.
  • Proven ability to manage rapid sales order growth, ideally scaling a business from $10 million to $100 million and beyond.
  • Successful leadership of sales teams in complex sales environments.
  • A strong personal network and in-depth knowledge of the retail sector.
  • Proven ability to evangelize new products and articulate the value proposition through coordinated marketing.
  • Experience leading teams selling multi-million-dollar software/solutions through direct and indirect channels.
  • Experience managing sales across companies global markets in a business-to-business technology sales environment.
  • Capability to contribute strategically to the wider business beyond "just" sales.
  • A seasoned senior sales leader with a proven track record of high performance in rapidly growing technology businesses across multiple locations.
  • A track record of converting technology trials into long-term revenue streams leading to successful corporate outcomes.

  • Excellent management skills with a 'hands-on' approach.
  • Retail experinece preferred
  • A willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Highly tenacious and achievement-oriented.
  • A track record of building and sustaining client relationships and possessing persuasive powers.
  • A commercially experienced, articulate, and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, both as a negotiator and as an internal and external company spokesperson.
  • A good strategist with the ability to look at the big picture while dealing with operational issues.
