Job Description

Our valued client, a healthcare consulting services and advisory firm, is seeking to hire a Director, Business Development (SVP) is to drive the achievement of ambitious growth goals by managing activity across all stages of client acquisition: prospect identification, outreach, relationship building, acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. The individual in this role will also be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day functions of the BD/Sales/Marketing department and team.


The Business Development Executive will have the ability to proactively identify business prospects, cross-selling opportunities, new potential clients and areas of business; conduct competitor, client and marketplace analyses; lead the preparation of pitch materials and tailored client proposals. By keeping business abreast of industry trends and speaking to our existing clients, the SVP will analyze new markets and design a market penetration strategy.


Working cross-functionally with the leaders of each service line, the individual will strategize and implement business development initiatives which align with our organizational growth goals. This will require supporting the service line leaders in developing business plans with corresponding marketing and strategic plans and overseeing the execution of these plans.


The Business Development leader will be responsible for building and leading a complete marketing team to optimize the Firm’s client acquisition funnel, manage in-person and virtual events and lead digital content strategies across social media platforms and other online channels.


In addition to the general responsibilities outlined herein, the individual will play a critical role in driving growth and profitability for the Firm. Additional duties and responsibilities will be separately defined relative to this role.


Ideal candidates will live in Eastern/Southeastern United States, and will be expected to travel extensively in this role (75%).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:


• Developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the overall company services, strategy and goals

• Demonstrate and maintain a deep proficiency and expert knowledge level of all existing and new company capabilities

• Representing firm in various functions such as events, conferences, and seminars to create awareness about the organization’s service lines and generate potential leads

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, key industry

players and leaders, strategic partners, and financing organizations

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, such as mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic alliances, that will drive revenue growth and increase market share

• Collaborating with the Director of Growth Marketing to develop marketing strategies that result in viable leads that can be converted to successful client relationships

• Overseeing and implementing the full sales cycle which involves market research, market

analysis, pitching to various prospects, and client retention

• Managing and leading a team of marketing professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management

• Analyzing market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities

• Ensuring deal flow information is captured within our CRM database

• Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of business development initiatives, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, and market share

• Establishing the sales metrics and goals for the marketing department and heads of each service line

• Tracking and reporting on the various business development strategies to refine and adjust strategies as needed to optimize success



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in a senior business development role within a professional services environment, demonstrating a track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market presence.

• Experience with business development in the healthcare space is strongly preferred (candidates with prior relationships with hospital systems, physician groups, and other healthcare companies will be given priority consideration).

• At least seven (7) years of progressive leadership responsibilities, showcasing the ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility and effectively lead teams.

• Willingness to travel 75% of the time.
