Job Description
Description:

We exist in an unprecedented time for climate work, surrounded by innovative solutions to the global issue of Climate Change. Although we are now equipped with a diverse array of impactful solutions, we still need people who are trained, ready, and motivated to achieve them. That’s where you come in! We are seeking a Project Coordinator for Higher Education to support SEI’s sustainability-focused education programs working with community colleges and universities. This Project Coordinator will primarily hold a leading role in growing the reach and impact of the Energize Colleges program, which aims to create a more sustainable, resilient future by training the changemakers who will lead the transformation to a clean energy future. This role would also be responsible for mentoring Climate Corps Fellows as they develop real-world skills to build a career in the sustainability field.

SEI is located in Marin County, CA, and operates on a hybrid work schedule for those located in the Bay Area; however, this position is open to candidates anywhere in California for remote work.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

We seek candidates that share SEI’s commitment to equity and environmental justice, and who share a commitment to work and learn within an anti-oppression framework. Persons of color, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community are strongly encouraged to apply. SEI is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity. We believe that a wide array of perspectives contributes to creative climate solutions where all communities thrive. We strive to reflect diverse communities, especially those most impacted by climate change and other kinds of environmental, social, and economic injustices.

Responsibilities

  • Support Associate Program Managers, Program Managers, and Program Directors with SEI’s education programs, including partner outreach, grant proposal writing, evaluation, and reporting
  • Support with higher education faculty and staff learning communities, training the trainers, and faculty-led curriculum development
  • Support training of new SEI staff on project workflows, tools, and/or changes
  • Lead execution of projects within higher education programs, serving as the primary point person for specified projects
  • Lead internal project team meetings, including scheduling, writing agendas, facilitating, and assigning action items and deadlines to individual team members
  • Supervise program members, including participants, fellows, and interns, by conducting regular check-ins, providing ongoing mentorship, managing deliverables, and approving expenses and timecards

What We Offer

  • Generous paid time off, including 2 weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, and sick time
  • The ability to do what you do best; the opportunity to do work you are naturally gifted at and trained to do
  • Employer pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision healthcare insurance premiums for you and your dependents
  • A starting wage of $33.00 an hour
  • An equitable and inclusive workplace committed to concrete, substantial change, beyond platitudes
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan, with employer match after one year
  • To promote greater work-life balance and better personal well-being, for Bay Area residents work is conducted in your home office or an offsite location 3 days per week and our San Rafael office 2 days per week, and for those residing outside of the Bay Area, all work is conducting in your home office or an offsite location
