Responsibilities

Attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide for optimum peri-operative experience. Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.

We are currently offering a $15,000 hiring bonus for this position. Details shared upon job offer for external candidates with a minimum of 1 year recent Surgical Tech experience, if applicable


Qualifications

EDUCATION : Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program. Certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE : Fulfilled through the educational process and documented on a skill check list which is kept current on each individual.

Additional Qualifications:

COMPETENCY: Otorhinolaryngology General/Gynecology Neurology Orthopedics Cardiovascular.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgical procedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient and staff safety recommendations.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Concern for quality patient care
  • Capable of rapid accurate reactions
  • Stands and walks major portion of work schedule
  • Communicates and works effectively with various levels of personnel
  • Moderate to heavy lifting required
  • Exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-ray

License or Certification:

  • Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
