Who we are looking for:


Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Supply Planner for our ECFC Electrical Cable & Flexible Conduit Strategic Business Unit to be located at our New Bedford, MA facility. Reporting to the Manager - Supply Planning, this person will be responsible for managing and/or supporting finished good levels within our network of stocking locations. Additionally, the individual will drive and support continuous improvement efforts and organizational excellence. Additionally, this role works cross functional with Sales and Operations to ensure that the supply planning processes are executed to meet customer needs while cost/service tradeoffs options are considered to drive continual business improvement and control. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is preferred.


What you’ll do:


  • Optimize finished goods’ inventory levels and availability to effectively service customer demand while minimizing transportation costs; communicate availability and other supply info to internal stakeholders
  • Work cross functionally to achieve organizational results and drive continuous improvement in processes and tools
  • Track, report, and analyze performance results to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); investigate root cause and action shortfalls
  • Identify and manage excess & obsolete product
  • Manage finished goods' (mix of manufactured and purchased) transfer orders and inventory at internal (Distribution Centers and manufacturing facilities) and external (agent) stocking locations


What you’ll bring:


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrate Atkore Core Values - Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or other relevant field; or 4-8 years' relevant working experience, as an equivalency
  • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced working environment
  • Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal
  • 1-3 years' supply or inventory planning experience (with degree); 4-8 years' (without)
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, plan workload, and establish priorities
  • Established ability to work with, and create Excel/Database files (i.e. formulas, pivot tables and troubleshooting); experience manipulating SQL queries and using ERP and/or MRP systems, preferred


Within 3 months, you’ll:


  • Use your inquisitive mind to learn the “whys” associated with current practices
  • Spend time training with SMEs, as well as self-directed learning
  • Understand your role within the organization, processes and tools
  • Complete your Atkore immersion program: includes learning our culture, values, strategic initiatives, and systems. You will also meet with team members and internal stakeholders with the goal of learning and building connections.


Within 6 months, you’ll:


  • Deepen understanding of processes and tools
  • Work towards established performance and development goals
  • Identify opportunities for improvement


Within 12 months, you’ll:


  • Action improvements
  • Drive results and achieve established goals
  • Troubleshoot issues and work towards effective and efficient resolution; fully support stakeholders as needed
  • Fully own your processes and tools
