Supply Planner / Buyer Jobs

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager Supply Chain, This position will liaise with Sales teams/businesses and is responsible for managing and delivering a production schedule, which meets the sales team's requirements and optimized production efficiency. The role is responsible for putting this schedule together; communicating it and actively helping Production produce the schedule. An understanding of SAP is desirable to fulfill this function.

Understanding the whole supply chain is important for effective coordination and liaison with customers. This function will interact with sales/business working closely with production and QA to answer customers’ questions about products and responding to any concerns a sales/customer service may have. Issue Purchase orders to vendors as Back-up Buyer

Area Of Responsibility

• Monitor key S&OP metrics
• Monitor market demand and communicate supply availability with the sales team(s)
• Develop capacity-feasible supply plans and provide them to the manufacturing sites on a prescribed schedule
• Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team by monitoring available capacity, monitoring and managing component availability to ensure that supply plans can be fulfilled, and proactively working to mitigate and resolve any product supply and/or customer service issues
• Advise management and appropriate internal teams of the current and future status of product supply for existing products.
• Actively manage orders and order exceptions, including order blocks, stock shortages
• Ensure product continuity of supply for all materials that fall under their assigned portfolio of products
• Issue process orders for manufacturing and packaging operation
• Meet regularly with demand planner(s) to discuss key in-stock and inventory issues, focus areas for the month, and extended timeframes
• Manage bailment inventory levels to meet service targets and minimize cash flow impacts, including appropriate management of high stocks, slow-moving products, obsolete product
• ·Identify and resolve capacity short-falls either with downstream demand collaboration or upstream supplier schedule changes
• Provide forecasts to procurement as dictated by Production Schedules (PS) and/or S&OP Plan
• ·Other duties as assigned.
• Evaluate existing processes and improve if necessary
• Manage proper inventory controls for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) and Raw Materials to ensure accuracy of inventory projections

Education and Job Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Education, Finance, Management, Mathematics, Economics, Business/Administration, Statistics.

Experience

• Ability to identify and evaluate key supply issues for the company and develop appropriate alternative solutions to meet KPI goals and provide information to make these decisions
• 1 - 5+ years’ experience, preferably in supply chain management, planning, or logistics
• Ability to use MS Excel, Microsoft Access, Power BI or other similar database software, including running pre-formatted reports preferred. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Experience in key supply chain functions including material requirements, master production schedules, production planning, manufacturing, inbound and outbound logistics, and distribution preferred
• Solid knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories within the supply chain
