Job Description

OVERVIEW: Our client, a multi-billion-dollar consumer products company, is seeking a Demand Planner for its NA business. This role can be based in Atlanta, Massachusetts, Minneapolis, the Demand Planner role is responsible for delivering a highly reliable forecast and driving speed to insights in order to deliver the best service to our customers at the lowest cost. This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities for process and tool improvement; this role may be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the transformation by partnering with leadership to develop and lead implementation of supply chain planning process to future improve the supply chain and drive enhanced planning maturity. Develop a culture of accountability around maintaining key supply chain inputs that reflect actual performance as it exists in the current state.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning team to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory. Assess demand risk and opportunities, provide recommendations for mitigating risks.
  • Drive business results by conducting demand forecasting and analysis based on historical data, market trends and customer inputs. Identify anomalies in forecasting model and make recommendation to improve forecast quality.
  • Partner with Commercial Sales and Finance to gather relevant data and incorporate it into demand planning process. Maintain demand planning model & tool, utilizing statistical techniques and software applications.


ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS: The ideal candidate will build demand forecasting experience in organizations known for highly reliable forecasts and best-in-class supply chains. This Demand Planner must be a proactive, action-oriented individual with the ability to quickly solve problems. This individual must have a burning desire to “Positively Impact People’s Lives”.


Ideally, this Demand Planner will bring:

  • Strong analytical skills and proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve targeted results that are relevant to the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Operate with a strong work ethic and an unrelenting resolve to follow through and meet commitments.
  • Experience with demand modeling, demand shaping, and allocation.
  • Successful track record of developing reliable forecasts that incorporate baseline modeling, event lift, pricing elasticity, new product launches, retailer insights, and competitive activities. • Experience with JDA/ERP or demand planning system is required.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, attention to accuracy & ability to reconcile various data elements. Strong business and financial acumen with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to risk management. Demonstrated capability of partnering with and influencing across functions, including Commercial Sales, Category Management, and Finance.
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn, roll-up their sleeves and set an example for the team as a “doer.”
  • (2-5+) years proven experience in demand planning or supply chain experience.
