Position Summary
Hiller Measurements is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee and manage our supply chain operations in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for ensuring that materials, components, and finished products are available to support production while minimizing inventory levels and lead times. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, aerospace and defense manufacturing processes, and lean principles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate records of supply chain activities.
- Manage the logistics function to ensure that finished products are shipped to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and develop strategies to minimize inventory carrying costs.
- Collaborate with the production planning team to ensure that production schedules are optimized based on available materials and components.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Implement and monitor supplier performance metrics to ensure that suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify opportunities for cost reduction and product improvement.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support production schedules and minimize inventory levels.
- Develop and implement processes to support continuous improvement in supply chain operations.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a team and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field preferred
- APICS certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.
