Reporting to our Global Operations Managing Director – Liquid Cooled Applications (LCA) you will develop procurement strategies and activities that support the goals of our business vertical. You will directly oversee our global LCA procurement team responsible for $300M+ of raw material, commodity and indirect spend; while also providing the strategic sourcing tools and guidance to support the decentralized spend. You will oversee our Supplier Quality Assurance group, which is instrumental in the selection of new suppliers and improving of existing supply base. Additionally you will refresh and oversee our global SIOP program.
This is a fully remote position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide a sourcing strategy.
- Provide selfless leadership to the Procurement team that creates a culture of trust and collaboration toward common goals.
- Responsible for cost productivity strategies directly related to direct material acquisition across all factories in the LCA global footprint.
- Ensure the obtainment of pricing and contract terms that position Modine for long-term success.
- An geographical sourcing strategy that reduces tariff exposure, geo-political risk and general supply chain / logistics instability;
- Provide procurement & logistics main competency and leadership support, as needed, to the centralized and regionally-decentralized supply chain teams.
- Demonstrate and set the expectations for talent selection and development, performance management and recognition to drive high levels of performance, engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Commercial/Regional teams to support sourcing programs that ensure products are on time, in budget, and according to engineering specifications.
- Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Lead the development of strategies for sourcing of global raw materials, common indirect goods and services, and other large commodities spend.
- Develop procurement effectiveness metrics and supplier scorecards to manage our supply base to improve performance.
- Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine the best strategy for procurement of materials based on present and future material availability and supplier performance, and total landed cost.
- Drive improvement in cashflow through improvements in capital efficiency, payment terms and inventory management.
- Develop comprehensive strategies for our global supply chain to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead-times and reduce inventories.
- Develop the strategic financial planning and analytical forecasting for both the domestic and global markets.
- Communicate and enforce company policies and country regulations regarding supplier and team compliance as driven through the Modine's Code of Ethics.
- Implement best practices in procurement, supplier, and logistics management to support commercial and operational goals.
- Develop low-cost country sourcing strategies across the regions in which our businesses operate, including:
- Develop standard sourcing processes for evaluation, negotiation, and selection of suppliers.
- Maintain general and specific knowledge of commodity markets for awareness of current prices and market rates. Must have experience with metals markets and ability to provide forecasting guidance and hedging strategies.
- Establish and deliver annual cost reduction targets that are cascaded throughout the LCA team.
- Assess, refresh, and implement a global SIOP program to optimize inventory at each site while ensuring proper inventory levels to support our OTD targets for our customers.
- Set standards that creates execution against the supplier diversity, dual sourcing and cost savings targets while meeting Modine's quality and delivery requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate high integrity, both in business and personally, and viewed as trustworthy by all members of the organization.
- At least 5+ years of experience working in a global manufacturing environment supporting at least $1 billion in revenue.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, develop and teach through others.
- 10+ years of experience managing global procurement/logistics functions including experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of compliance with regulatory agencies affecting network materials management activities, and preparation of reports concerning status of activities/concerns in areas of responsibility.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA degree from accredited college / university in Supply Chain, Business Administration, engineering or related majors; MBA or MA/MS in related field preferred.
TRAVEL:
- Up to 30% Travel (including global travel) required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/DEMOSTRATED COMPETENCY:
- Proven expert in negotiations, and having the ability to train others in this area.
- Experience in successfully leading and managing teams dispersed globally.
- Extensive knowledge of procedures and regulations relating to the procurement, storage, receiving and distribution of supplies/equipment in a global manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to translate corporate strategy and external market forces into multi-year, fact based, and data driven sourcing strategies and tactical plans, and the execution of these strategies and plans.
- Estimated Base Salary Range - $170,000.00 - $255,000.00
The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, and location. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
