About This Role
Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Director of Supply chain is responsible for directing and planning the retail aspects of a Common Citizen’s supply chain initiatives, policies, and objectives. This person will oversee all forecasting, purchasing, inventory, distribution, and transportation activities with the goal to create a world class supply chain measured by cost of goods sold optimization, inventory turnover, obsolescence, and stock-out prevention.
Responsibilities

- Maintain working knowledge of key markets, commodities, and inputs, and establish indicator metrics to identify price movements.
- Collaborates with supply chain leadership and operations leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on supply chain operations projects and systems.
- Provide accurate & routine reporting on all KPI’s.
- Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the business plan and vision.
- Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to create & oversee all contracts and procurements.
- Oversee and manage all inventories including cannabis products, collaborating with operations, compliance, and accounting to optimize and track all wholesale and retail inventories.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline retail supply chain processes and use of resources and raw materials.
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee Procurement, Planning and Scheduling to ensure the purchased and manufactured materials are available at the most cost-effective price to meet customer demand and quality standards.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to integrate new products into value streams.
The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need:
- Demonstrated experience in demand planning, supply planning, fulfillment, and inventory planning and control in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods.
- Demonstrated experience executing strategic initiatives.
- Technical expert in supply chain planning methodologies.
- Experience in Cannabis industry and/or CPG. Retail experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- Strategic change agent with track-record of transforming supply chain through people, process, technology in a best practice environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets.
- This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast paced and lively work environment.
- At least 10 years' experience, with at least 7 years leading a team.
- Demonstrated experience in working in and sustaining lean implementations and managing continuous improvement systems.
- Demonstrated experience of six sigma and lean concepts
- Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, leading, and managing kaizen events.

- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
