Responsibilities

  • Conducting regular and 'as needed' program/project and cross-functional team meetings as a component of the program operating mechanisms to update status, and identifying and resolving issues.
  • Identifying areas in our processes and management of projects that can be modified and improved and execute steps to implement those changes.
  • Anticipating, proactively identifying, documenting and managing key program risks and resource constraints, proposing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans across multiple programs.
  • Ensure that a project delivers on time with high quality, within budget, and in accordance with stated business and technical objectives.
  • Plan and implement multiple Chain Projects both managing the projects and utilizing additional Project Managers.
  • Holding team members accountable for their commitments, milestones, resources, and deliverables and ensuring that these are met.
  • Ensure that risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints are managed appropriately at program and project levels. Where risks or issues threaten delivery of the program, develop, and gain alignment on recovery plans.
  • Lead the development and implementation of chain programs that support the Spencer's and Spirit Halloween Strategic Plan.
  • Continually looking for opportunities to improve current processes and approaches and implementing of these changes.
  • Drive cross-functional execution of multi-departmental efforts consisting of multiple programs, often with non-aligned schedules and deliverables from requirements to delivery.
  • Lead the detailed design and delivery of substantial projects within a transformational change management program, ensuring integration with other functions; build management commitment and use structured change management methodologies to drive acceptance of change.
  • Documenting and communicating objectives, plans, status, issues and risks in a timely manner to team members, stakeholders and senior management.
  • Drive projects using PMO standard toolsets and templates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent hands on experience.
  • Ability to intuitively gauge a project's scope and the team's ability to execute well.
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to lead across business, IT, vendors and Executive Leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across organizations in delivering the best outcome of complex programs.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Solutions orientated, with a track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Exposure to various software development lifecycles (ex Kanban, Agile, Waterfall) with deep knowledge in one or more.
  • Ability to manage multiple and oft-changing priorities simultaneously.
  • 5 years plus managing Chain Projects and Programs.
  • Strong experience with MS Project (or related Project tools) and Visio.
  • Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status and results clearly, focusing on critical few key points.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Chain Knowledge and experience leading Chain Programs in particular opening new Distribution Centers and new Management Software implementations.
