Job Description
Provide coaching, oversight, and management to limited scope team within the responsible technical area of operations for continuous improvement. The specific responsible technology area may consist of multiple technology functions within a specific technology focus including at least one of the following: software engineering, platform system development, information security, enterprise architecture, and/or infrastructure (including data center, network, and telephony). This includes a focus on the execution of the technical direction and strategy as received from the manager.
Responsible for technical issues, actions, and problem-solving within the team
Provide direction to the technical team of responsibility on a daily basis
Conduct technical planning for daily and operational-level commitments
Engage team in technical opportunity identification
Implement technology best practices and continuous improvement methodologies
Inform others of impediments, status, and progress in relationship to SLAs; work with the team for high-level technical problem resolution to be accomplished by the technical team of responsibility
Identify and mitigate operational risks
Remain current on new technology and methods to ensure state-of-the-art and cost-effective solutions to business processes
Coordinate training to ensure all departmental staff have appropriate skills and receive appropriate information/instruction
Maintain effective communications across the technical area, and externally as necessary, to the management of related technology teams
Where appropriate involve management, senior-level management, and employees in plans and progression
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a business-related environment
Basic knowledge of people management
Wide-range technology knowledge, and comprehensive technology knowledge for specific technology areas of responsibility

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with leading change management and implementation efforts
  • Knowledge of QA automation in a lead capacity – with experience building and expanding test operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP – and the ability to navigate screens/transactions
  • Ability to provide strong leadership/organizational skills in IT Quality Management
  • Experience with testing tools; preferably Worksoft, Micro Focus Quality Center, TeamCity, TestComplete, and Load Nija
  • Experience coordinating enterprise-wide QA testing activities for multiple projects/teams across an organization
