Movement gyms feature bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, as well as amenities like yoga studios, functional fitness and cardio zones, and retail pro shops. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Front Desk Supervisor is a key team member who supports the Gym Directors in fostering a culture of transformative experiences for both our guests and our team members. They are passionate about mentoring, take pride in the facility, and strive to provide only the best customer experiences. Supervisors have a deep understanding of how to create ‘wow’ moments for our guests, set up our team members for success, and ensure efficient workflows in the gym.

The Supervisor is responsible for creating a seamless and welcoming first experience into our community for new members and potential members. They are the 'point person' for overseeing the front desk during peak hours and ensuring that the service delivered is consistent with our mission and core values. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote an environment that is inclusive and celebrates diversity, including responding or intervening if community or team members raise any concerns or you witness an incident.
  • Support the Director team on meeting and exceeding gym targets in alignment with Movement's Strategic Plan and tactics.
  • Effectively communicate changes in policy, upcoming events, or other topics, to lead change effectively and gain support and buy-in from the team.
  • Maintaining and updating Rockville's Front Desk Training curriculum
  • Provide periodic training to team members regarding various front desk operations.
  • Demonstrate humility and a willingness to seek input and listen to constructive feedback while recognizing and appreciating contributions from all.
  • Organizing events
  • Hold accountability for actions related to risk management and appropriate conduct with guests and team members alike.
  • Provide day to day supervision and mentoring of team members
  • Engaging community partners
  • Participate actively in management meetings, 1:1 meetings, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Support the goals of the gym in alignment with our mission and values through understanding and making empowered decisions.
  • Facilitate the delivery of excellent front line customer service and serve as a role model to all team members.
  • Receiving retail shipments/ processing invoices
  • Manage retail, instruction, and/or operations-related projects and tasks in coordination with the director team, which may include, but is not limited to:
    • Receiving retail shipments/ processing invoices
    • Navigating unforeseen staffing changes
    • Organizing events
    • Maintaining and updating Rockville's Front Desk Training curriculum
    • Engaging community partners

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous work experience in a climbing gym or related industry a plus.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skillset to be in a supervisory position to aid and support other team members.
  • Demonstrates courage to do the right thing and face challenges to manage positive customer relationships and interactions; asks for help when needed.
  • Promotes a commitment to excellence in customer service, safety, organizational, and mentorship skills.
  • Shows problem solving skills and ability to think creatively to contribute thoughts and ideas.
  • Solid computer and administrative skills (email, Asana, Teams, Word, Excel, Rock Gym Pro or other POS applications).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is a part time (max 30 hours/week), non-exempt position, including gym membership and other benefits.

Starting pay is $19.00/hr with flexibility based on experience.

New hires will complete a screening process.

Scheduled shift times may vary from week to week or month to month.

Candidates who apply should be in excellent standing with their current director/management team.
