- Operations Supervisor

TheOperations Supervisorprovides operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to achieve overall performance goals for productivity, cost, quality, of a dedicated-on site white glove home delivery service.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with onsite clients to ensure understanding of existing and emerging customer needs.
  • Engagement with the customers, client and drivers to ensure proper communication is distributed for successful completion of deliveries in the established time frame.
  • Achieve customer metrics to ensure performance goals are successfully met, decrease incident rates, comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), etc.
  • Monitor calls and be prepared to de-escalate calls.
  • Supervise and monitor daily load-out and dispatch processes for home delivery teams.
  • Help sustain an environment that fosters open and positive team communication by hosting team meetings, stand-ups, planning associate recognition events, individual meetings, and other related formal and informal methods of communication.
  • Enforce company safety standards and ensure the associates are complying with policies and procedures to reduce accidents and create a safe working environment.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning route operations (internal and external).
  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with all levels of internal/external customers to ensure long-term and successful partnerships.
  • Monitor the established KPI and productivity goals for subordinates and drivers.
  • Undertake efforts to help ensure that the relationship with the carriers is respected and maintained.
  • Supervise the execution of daily dispatch to include the planning, delivery, monitoring of assigned loads, drivers, and equipment in tandem with the customer's requirements for production plans, routes and schedules.
  • Ensure customer and vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced.
  • Ensure carriers are complying with the contractual terms identified in their Carrier Contract Agreement.
  • Perform all supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff, which include scheduling, assigning work, hiring, training and development, and addressing/documenting performance or disciplinary issues.
  • Oversee the preparation, collection, formatting, auditing and submission of driver payroll documentation.

  • Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or logistics, transportation management is preferred, not required
    • 1- 3 years’ supervisory experience in a 3PL or home delivery environment


    Skills/Abilities

    • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
    • Computer literate with general knowledge of software to include Microsoft Office Suite and transportation systems
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written as well as practice active listening skills
    • Bi-Lingual
    • Must have Home Delivery experience

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools; reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to stand and bend for up to ten hours. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
