Job Description

The Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in Illinois Business Consulting. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of software solutions that align with our mission to optimize internal operations and provide top-tier consulting services.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback to peers, and implement changes to optimize software quality.
  • Document software design and code changes to ensure comprehensive understanding and future maintainability.
  • Collaboratively design and implement high-quality software solutions based on established requirements.
  • Stay updated with emerging technology trends and suggest innovative solutions to enhance our services.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Engage with other team members and clients in a professional, collaborative manner to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient problem-solving.


Qualifications

  1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
  2. UI/UX Designers: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma) and a good understanding of user-centered design principles.
  3. Frontend Developers: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
  4. Backend Developers: Proficiency in server-side languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js) and database management.
  5. Data Scientists: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL), machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  6. Previous experience using version control tools like Git.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  10. Committed to continuous learning and open to constructive feedback.
  11. A strong portfolio showcasing previous projects (e.g., a GitHub profile) is a plus.
