Our client is on a mission to democratize the design and manufacture of vehicles, and they need a Structures Engineer to help them achieve this goal. As a structures engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing Node™-based vehicle structures using hand calculations, topology optimization, and CAD/CAE tools. You will work closely with the manufacturing engineers to ensure designs can be efficiently produced and assembled, and you will collaborate with other disciplines to design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.

The company is committed to transforming the vehicle structural systems away from traditional body in white to a 3D printing enabled system using new materials and new technologies. As a Structures Optimization Engineer, you will help shape the future of automotive structures and play a crucial role in driving radical innovation, capital reduction, and sustainability in vehicle manufacturing.

To be successful in this role, you must have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, 3+ years of experience using advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions, and 3+ years of CAD and CAE experience. You should also have solid interpersonal skills, be a motivated self-starter, and have experience managing your personal workload and execution to tight schedules. Experience interfacing with engineering and manufacturing groups to understand system designs and the associated constraints is also a plus.
