On Demand Global Media has openings for aspiring and junior story producers who want to make their mark in the unscripted industry. This is for a competition show related to the creative arts.

Initially, the position is flexible as to hours and days. Most of the tasks can be done remotely. Local travel may be required from time to time (ie. within or just beyond the TMZ). There may be some opportunity to focus on your area(s) of interest. As we get into production proper, the position will be full time, though the length depends upon the season.

You will be involved in actual development of the series concept, and the execution of it. As a story producer, you will work directly with director, talent and on-screen participants, to bring out the human stories, drama, fun and interest in the show. You will also directly be involved in casting for on-screen talent. You may be involved in some editing of story-line such as string-outs, etc.

Requirements:
  • You aspire to be a story producer, director, casting director, or development executive in film, series, music, live performance or other media.
  • A serious interest in, or some experience in casting, whether it is unscripted/reality or narrative.
  • Some experience, even at student level, in any unscripted format show, especially in competition shows of any kind.
  • You must have reliable transportation.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Photoshop. Understanding of file transfer services.
  • Good handwriting and good typing/keyboarding skills - you will often have to take notes very quickly.
  • Basic skills in various social media and intermediate skills in Instagram.
  • Ability to express yourself clearly and concisely in written English.
  • Execution of Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreements with Facet TV and from time to time with outside parties.
  • The following are not required to apply but will help you get more out of this position: (1) An artistic background. (2) Understanding of the history of film, photography and theatre. (3) Experience in non-linear editing systems such as Adobe CCS or Avid. (4) Experience in screen writing or as a playwright. (5) Experience in any kind of casting or directing function.
