The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Staffing Coordinator/Medical Records Clerk to join our Health Center team to work a Full-time schedule, The Staffing Coordinator/Medical Records Clerk manages the nursing staff schedule to ensure adequate staffing is maintained to provide optimum care to our members; and ensures that medical records are maintained according to established standards, policies, and State and Federal regulations. This position also provides clerical support to nursing and administration and manages materials as necessary for the care of residents and the operation of the facility.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Staffing Coordinator/Medical Records Clerk
- Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records by participating in and completing medical record audits to ensure compliance.
- Assist DON with filing and distribution of employee records, letters, notifications, and other documentation.
- Assist with employee records, including maintaining and coordinating all-time records for submission to payroll and all attendance activity reports for submission to DON.
- Maintain and manage schedules for the nursing staff, while ensuring appropriate staffing levels are adequate to properly care for the members of the Health Center.
- Maintenance of residents’ charts including opening and assembling a new chart, auditing charts, verifying timely documentation by medical providers and interdisciplinary care team, verifying that information required for a chart is complete including timely resident photos and closing chart upon discharge from the facility.
- Participates in the “on-call” process for staffing-related issues or concerns after business hours Monday – Friday while maintaining a record of all staffing-related calls.
- Communicate all concerns regarding nursing staff numbers and staffing-related issues to Director of Nursing (DON).
- Participates in managing staffing levels and adjusting them according to the member census in the health center while remaining within the budgeted goals of allowed overtime.
- Adhere to best practices of filing labs, orders, and medication administration records within a week of signature and/or the first week of the month for MARS/TARS.
- Participates in the employment process and assists with new hire orientation as needed.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High School diploma required with applicable coursework preferred. Equivalent applicable experience in medical secretary, medical transcription, or medical records is acceptable.
- Competent in various office equipment, including but not limited to computers, fax machines, calculators, and copiers.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Pay Range$23.00 - $23.50 per hour depending on experience.
