As a Java Software Engineer, you will be a hands-on lead engineer in our Product & Underwriting value stream supporting the document publishing efforts within Group Benefits. Your leadership will be essential to the success of our agile teams as we support our portfolio of publishing work. You will also seek to influence and advance our document publishing strategy by working with customers, architects and publishing platform owners. To be a software engineer on our team, you need to be willing to work solo and as a member of an agile Kanban team. That means we expect our software engineers to collaborate with our product owners, designers, and architects. You will write software, create database scripts, and help other engineers do the same. The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.
